Preparation of Hydrophobic Monolithic Supermacroporous Cryogel Particles for the Separation of Stabilized Oil-in-Water Emulsion

Here, we prepared hydrophobic cryogel particles with monolithic supermacropores based on poly-trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (pTrim) by combining the inverse Leidenfrost effect and cryo-polymerization technique. The adopting this method demonstrated separation of stabilized O/W emulsion surfactant. were characterized in terms macroscopic shape porous structure. It was found that had a narrow size distribution supermacroporous hydrophobicity confirmed placing aqueous organic droplets particles. Where droplet immediately adsorbed into particles, remained surface particle due to repelling force. In addition, after it observed, solvent diffused entire particle. indicated pores distributed from interior. Regarding application oil-in-water emulsion, resulting successful removal emulsion.
